“In Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”

Romans 12:5

If you consider TBC your church family, we’d love you to become a member. In the early church new Christians became part of the local church and got involved with its life and activities – have a look at Acts 2:42-47.

For us at TBC, being a member of the local church is a vital part of the privilege of being a Christian. In the New Testament one of the descriptions given to the local church is “the body of Christ”. This is a recognition of the fact that, just as there are many parts of the human body each with a special place and purpose, in the same way every member of the local church has an important part to play. In fact, the writers of the New Testament simply assume that those who believe in Jesus will have known repentance from sin, trusted in Jesus, been baptised, been filled with the Holy Spirit AND become a part of into their local church family.

What does such membership involve at TBC? There are four things we think are important:

  • Christian Worship – we expect our members to be regular in attendance;
  • Christian Fellowship – we encourage our members to be part of a small group;
  • Christian Giving – we rely on our members being generous with their gifts, talents, in fact all their resources including their money.
  • Christian Living – we expect our members to live lives that honour Jesus Christ, the Lord of the Church.

Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and get involved with this broken busted bunch of people here at TBC?

We’d love to hear from you!

You can get in touch online, fill out a Welcome Card (available from our Sunday welcome team) or speak to someone at reception during the week, and we will get in touch to arrange a time to chat with you more.
