Sustain is a community food bank run by TBC.
It exists to express God’s love through providing emergency food supplies to local people experiencing a short term need. All the food items are donated by individuals or local groups, and distributed to recipients referred by front line care agencies.
We are open for people to collect food parcels between 12.00 noon – 2.00pm Monday to Friday.
If you’d like to donate to Sustain, a list of the foods needed can be found below. Items can be left at Tonbridge Baptist Church reception 9.30am – 4pm Monday to Friday.
Referrals can be made by any front line care agency such as GP, school teacher, early help, social services, health visitor, Jobcentre, Tonbridge Gateway, social worker, doctor or citizens advice. If you are in need of food please contact one of these agencies. The referring agency then needs to contact Tonbridge Baptist Church on 01732 352824 to refer for either an individual or family parcel. The individual can then collect the food parcel from TBC between 12-2pm on any weekday. Referrals made before 1pm can be collected on the same day. Please note, Sustain is not open on weekends or bank holidays.

Financial Donations via JustGiving
We rely on donated items from generous local people, schools and businesses. However, the current need exceeds the supply of donated items. This appeal will help us purchase additional food items when they are needed most.
We are concerned about the impact of the Coronavirus outbreak on those needing to use food banks and we are taking extra measures to ensure the most vulnerable in our community can still access food.
Each week since March SUSTAIN has provided an average of 60 emergency food parcels. A family parcel costs £50 and an individual parcel costs £25 to put together, a total cost of between £1,000 – £1,500 each week. Your donation would go towards ensuring we can continue to provide emergency food during this difficult time.
All donations to SUSTAIN are ring fenced and restricted for the work of SUSTAIN.
