Volunteering at TBC

Over 350 people give their time to make the weekday activities and Sunday programme of TBC happen. Whether you’re an expert washer-upper, love to make people feel at home, are happy tinkering with AV or have a passion for kids ministry we’d love to help you find your place in the team.

Youth and Kids

Anchor Boys Helper

Our fun loving, energetic Boys Brigade section for 5-8yr olds needs a helper to join the team! The role will include assisting in a variety of games and activities.

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Fridays 4:30-6:30pm

Club Sunday helper

Our Sunday morning group for 5-11 year olds needs more helpers to be able to run each week. This role might involve planning a craft, leading a game or just chatting with the kids.

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Sunday mornings, either weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

Amicus

Amicus is our Friday evening youth group for older teens who do a variety of fun activites each week! They desperately need more helpers to help out once or twice a month.
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Fridays 8-10pm

Own It!

Own It is our Sunday evening group for older teens who are developing their faith and looking at the big questions in life. They also eat a lot of pizza so get in touch if you can help!
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Alternate Sundays 6:30-8pm

Creative

Social media team

We would like to build a social media team to produce content for our Facebook and Instagram accounts.  This could be writing short devotions or inspiring thoughts, producing graphics and videos or taking film / photos of what goes on at TBC. It could also involve admin involvement on the TBC group, but not essential

Remote working as suits you

Flower arranger

This role requires basic creative ability to be able to select and arrange flowers into an impactful and visually pleasing way for the donator and church family to enjoy. Training is available.

Friday or Saturday for Sunday services.

Creative team

Are you creative or enjoy art and design? Become part of a wider team, using various skills and abilities to work on creative content for services and seasonal displays.

Monthly meeting. Other days as agreed

Services

Worship team musician

To be part of the worship ministry community, you must have some musical skill (but you don’t have to have sold out Wembley!), but more important is humility and a heart to see the church family worship with freedom.

Monthly on Sunday

Midweek sound tech

This essential role involves providing basic sound technician cover for weekday and / or evening events such as funerals, external concerts and school events. Full training can be given.

As and when required (an hour or two once or twice a month)

Communion Server

We would love more people to volunteer to distribute bread and wine to the congregation during morning communion services.

First Sunday of every other month

Evening Communion Set-up

We need a couple more people to set-up before, and clear away after communion services.
This involves arriving approx. 30-40 minutes before the service, preparing the bread & wine then washing up afterwards.

Sundays. Once every two months at evening services

Host team

This role involves welcoming people to TBC on a Sunday morning, directing children and young people to their groups, engaging with newcomers and answering questions.

Sundays 9:30-11:30am, once or twice a month.

Flower Deliverer

This rewarding ministry blesses so many people! You will need a car to be able to deliver  between 3 to 6 bunches of flowers to a list of people.
