“Don’t let anyone look down on you for being young. Instead, make your speech, behaviour, love, faith, and purity an example for other believers.”

1 Timothy 4:12

TBC offers a generous welcome to the youth of Tonbridge. Whatever their background, they’ll find a safe place to come and hang out with each other, and to belong. Our main focus is on relationships; building strong and lasting friendships with each other and with Jesus.

By putting on a variety of activities – Bible studies, church events, youth café, youth club, camp and great socials, we want to share life and laughter together and be a place where people can feel free to be themselves. We are passionately committed to awakening the God-given potential in every one of their lives and situations. We encourage them to use the gifts God has given them and equip them to invite their friends to join them in life-changing encounters with Jesus.

Regular activities

Youth Sundays

Every Sunday

10 – 11.15am

Year 7 – 9

Sunday mornings for youth centre around ‘Basecamp’; a group for year 7-9s to join in the conversation about God and life including teaching, discussion, games and food! Out of basecamp, mainly for older youth, there are opportunities for developing in leadership through activities such as helping with children’s groups, serving in main services and serving our local community by gardening and visiting the elderly.

We also have ‘Aslan’, a Sunday morning group for children and young people with special educational needs. For more information, please have a look at our Additional Needs page.

Youth Band

Youth Band practices every other week, on term time Tuesdays at 5pm – 6:30pm. It is open to any young people interested in getting involved with worship at TBC, and offers a great opportunity for younger musicians to hone their skills in music and worship. We work on technical skills, but also aim to build a worshipping community, equipping us to connect with God better through music. Open to all in years 7 – 13.

Brigades Band

@ Tonbridge Baptist Church

Year 7 – 13

Tonbridge Brigades Band is a marching band of young people from the ages 11 – 18. We provide instruments such as trumpets, side drum and bell lyres – a great opportunity to learn something new and then put it in to practice as you march. We provide a welcoming and supportive environment for all ability levels. We work together to create a display piece for the National BB / GB championships. Join us from 7pm to 8:30pm, Mondays during term time.

The Boys’ Brigade

Expect new challenges and experiences; to be listened to, and to have a say, and to be surprised by God along the way!

The Girls’ Brigade

This group has loads to offer girls today. It’s designed to challenge and inspire, and is a safe place where girls can just be girls. They’ll develop practical and life skills, and find a sense of belonging, equality and identity.

Fridays (during term time)

8.15 – 10.30pm
@ Tonbridge Baptist Church

Year 10 – 13
£20 per term

Young people and adults work together to develop and deliver their own programme in an empowering, equal opportunities group for girls and boys in years 10 – 13.

Cell Groups

Cell groups meet weekly or every other week. They’re open to all young people between the ages of 12 – 18. Some groups are a mix of boys and girls and some are single gender. Cell groups are all about awakening the spiritual life of our young people. They provide a safe space where questions can be asked, issues discussed and prayer can be given.

Mentoring is an exciting, faith-building journey with input from a slightly older Christian to help you. It is a chance to be open about your life and get the support of someone who really wants to help you and see you become all that God has made you to be.

We have a number of special events to look forward to throughout the year. These include a weekend away, cell socials, worship nights, a summer party lock-in, an annual youth swim, fireworks, and sometimes we go to Soul Survivor together. Follow our Facebook page to keep up to date:
